Is a Gym for Dogs Going Over the Top?

They offer everything from canine hydrotherapy and aqua therapy to small animal message and aromatherapy.

According to the Washington Post, a new gym for doggies recently opened in Alexandria, Virginia, advertising itself as the region’s first. While some non-dog owners might be appalled at the idea of spending money for a doggy gym, pet owners will probably wonder why it took such a doggy indulgent area as DC so long to start one.

For instance, Rocky’s Retreat in Orlando, Florida, was founded in 2006 as a canine health and wellness practice, but in 2011 it was christened Rocky’s Retreat Canine Health & Fitness Center. According to the company’s website, they offer everything from canine hydrotherapy and aqua therapy to small animal message and aromatherapy.

Canine Fitness and Fun Center in Denver, Colorado offers swimming, play and exercise for dogs. And the list goes on.

It seems that doggy owners will spend whatever it takes to keep their pets trim, healthy and happy, just as it should be.
